Job Overview

Key Job Responsibilities

Agricultural Infrastructure & Irrigation Development

The State Agriculture Infrastructure Officer (SAIO) will:

  • Coordinate and supervise small-scale irrigation systems and agricultural infrastructure projects funded under S-FSRP.
  • Provide technical oversight in the planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation of irrigation systems.
  • Support implementation of water harvesting systems, runoff management, roof catchments, and climate-smart irrigation technologies.
  • Ensure infrastructure activities comply with engineering standards, environmental safeguards, and World Bank regulations.
  • Assist with preparation of technical specifications, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and engineering reports.

Project Coordination & Technical Advisory

  • Coordinate activities with farmer groups, NGOs, contractors, consultants, community organizations, and government ministries.
  • Provide technical support to state and district authorities on irrigation technologies and agricultural infrastructure planning.
  • Facilitate permits, approvals, and regulatory compliance for infrastructure activities.
