Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Epidemiologist to lead disease surveillance and outbreak response initiatives in the Hiran region. This critical role involves designing complex surveillance systems, analyzing large datasets to identify emerging health threats, and coordinating rapid response teams during infectious disease outbreaks. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee integrated disease surveillance and response (IDSR) systems across the region.
• Lead epidemiological investigations into suspected outbreaks of cholera, measles, and other endemic diseases.
• Analyze complex health data to identify trends, patterns, and risk factors affecting community health.
• Collaborate with local health authorities and NGOs to integrate surveillance data into regional health planning.
• Provide technical guidance and training to field staff and local health workers on data collection and reporting.
• Prepare comprehensive epidemiological reports and briefs for senior management and international stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in statistical software such as STATA, R, or SPSS.
• Expertise in designing and implementing epidemiological surveillance protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in high-pressure humanitarian settings.
• Exceptional communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in remote and challenging environments.

Education

A Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related medical field is mandatory. A Medical Degree (MD) with specialized training in epidemiology is also highly preferred.

Experience

A minimum of seven years of professional experience in infectious disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, or clinical epidemiology is required. Proven experience working in humanitarian or post-conflict settings is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of managing large-scale health data projects.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 7,200,000 SSP, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a competitive package designed to attract top-tier global health experts.
