Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety management systems (SMS) in accordance with ICAO and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all operational areas.
- Collaborate with the Civil Aviation Authority of Somalia to ensure compliance with national aviation safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and generate corrective action plans.
- Prepare safety performance reports and present findings to senior management.
- Design and deliver safety training modules for pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging safety technologies.
- Support the development of emergency response procedures and crisis management plans.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, EASA, and FAA safety regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in safety management software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or Somali is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Safety Management, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as IOSA, ASQ Certified Safety Professional, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience in aviation safety, regulatory compliance, or risk management within an airline or aviation authority. Prior experience in a senior safety role, conducting investigations, and leading safety training programs is essential.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 5,000,000 to 8,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
