Job Overview

The Aviation Maintenance Engineer will join the Marka MRO team, responsible for overseeing the maintenance, inspection, and repair of a diverse fleet that includes Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will ensure compliance with Ethiopian Airlines’ maintenance manuals, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, and local aviation authority regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft structures, systems, and components.
  • Perform detailed inspections, troubleshoot faults, and execute corrective actions in accordance with OEM guidelines.
  • Lead a team of technicians, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with flight operations to schedule maintenance activities that minimize impact on flight schedules.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, recommending process enhancements and cost‑saving measures.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements are strictly followed.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including avionics, propulsion, hydraulics, and landing gear.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software and digital logbooks.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with pilots, ground staff, and regulatory bodies.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license, EASA Part‑66, or FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years’ hands‑on experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least two years in a supervisory or lead engineer role. Experience with both narrow‑body and wide‑body aircraft is preferred.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 5,000,000 to 8,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
