Job Overview
The Network Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions for Vodafone’s telecommunications network in Garbaharey. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy network security architectures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN solutions.
- Monitor network traffic for anomalies, conduct threat hunting, and respond to security incidents promptly.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to integrate security controls into network design and rollout.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network components.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of security configurations, incident reports, and risk assessments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and network engineers.
- Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting the telecommunications sector.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS) and security technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, and VPN solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
- Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR compliance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or CEH are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience securing large‑scale telecommunications networks. Experience with mobile backhaul, core network elements, and satellite communications is a plus. Prior involvement in incident response and security operations centers (SOC) will strengthen your application.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be included.
