Job Overview

The E‑commerce Strategy Manager will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS‑powered marketplace solutions for Somali retailers and entrepreneurs. Reporting to the Regional Director of Strategy, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product, engineering, sales, and local partners—to develop market‑specific strategies that increase online sales, improve customer experience, and boost merchant adoption of AWS services. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive e‑commerce strategy tailored to the Somali market, aligning with AWS’s global objectives and local business needs.
• Identify and onboard high‑potential merchants, providing guidance on platform integration, digital marketing, and logistics optimization.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to customize AWS Marketplace solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with local regulations.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and consumer behavior studies to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
• Lead workshops, webinars, and training sessions for merchants and partners to accelerate platform adoption.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV), merchant retention, and customer satisfaction, delivering regular reports to senior leadership.
• Advise government agencies on e‑commerce policy, digital taxation, and infrastructure development to foster a supportive ecosystem.
• Manage a small team of analysts and coordinators, providing mentorship and performance feedback.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior executives and government officials.
• Deep understanding of e‑commerce platforms, digital payments, and supply‑chain logistics.
• Proficiency in AWS services (e.g., AWS Marketplace, AWS Cloud, AI/ML tools) and cloud‑based solution architecture.

• Fluency in English; knowledge of Somali language is a strong advantage.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field is required. A master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) or certifications in AWS solutions architecture, digital marketing, or supply‑chain management are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum five years of experience in e‑commerce strategy, digital retail, or marketplace development, preferably within emerging markets. Prior experience working with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and a proven record of driving merchant growth are essential.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 8,000,000 to SSP 12,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
