Job Overview

This role leads the planning, execution, and monitoring of renewable energy projects in Mogadishu, including solar power installations and energy efficiency initiatives. The position reports directly to the Director of Energy Solutions and collaborates with international partners to deliver clean energy solutions aligned with Somalia’s National Energy Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for renewable energy initiatives
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and government agencies for project approvals
  • Monitor project performance against KPIs and sustainability goals
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in managing renewable energy projects in emerging markets
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems and grid integration
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera)
  • Fluency in English and Somali

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical), Energy Management, or related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience

3-5 years in project management roles within energy sectors, preferably with solar energy or off-grid solutions in Somalia or neighboring regions.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 Somali Shillings (SOS) annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
