Job Overview
This role leads the implementation of smart construction projects in Galkayo, focusing on integrating digital technologies with traditional construction methods to create energy-efficient, climate-resilient buildings. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and execution of smart construction projects using BIM and IoT-enabled monitoring systems
- Coordinate with municipal planners to align projects with Galkayo’s urban development master plan
- Implement safety protocols for high-rise construction in seismic-prone zones
- Manage budgets and timelines for multi-phase infrastructure developments
- Train local contractors in smart construction techniques and materials
- Ensure compliance with Somali building codes and international sustainability standards
Required Skills
- Expertise in Smart Construction Technologies (BIM, IoT sensors, energy-efficient materials)
- Proven experience with Urban Development Projects in emerging markets
- Strong Leadership and Cross-Cultural Communication Skills
- Proficiency in Project Management Software (Primavera, MS Project)
- Knowledge of Climate-Resilient Construction Practices
- Ability to Read and Interpret Technical Drawings
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Construction Management
- Master’s Degree in Sustainable Infrastructure preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) License advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 5 years managing large-scale construction projects
- Experience with Smart City Infrastructure Projects
- Track record in Government-Private Sector Partnerships
- Previous work in East African construction markets
Salary
500,000 – 800,000 SSP monthly, commensurate with experience and project complexity.
