Job Overview

The Environmental Sustainability Project Manager will lead initiatives to design, implement, and monitor renewable energy projects in Kismayo. This role requires strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with local partners to achieve environmental and community development goals. The position is ideal for a professional passionate about climate action and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project plans for renewable energy and environmental sustainability programs.
  • Coordinate with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure project alignment with regional needs.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and funding partners.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and manage grant applications.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in project management within environmental or energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze environmental data and create actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
  • Fluency in Somali and English.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental project management or similar roles.
  • Experience working in Somalia or other East African regions is an advantage.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
