Job Overview
We are seeking a highly meticulous and detail-oriented Customs Brokerage Specialist to join our growing operations in El Ela. This role is critical to our mission of providing seamless logistics solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process complex customs documentation for various types of cargo.
- Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes to ensure accurate duty assessment.
- Liaise with government customs officials to facilitate the smooth clearance of shipments.
- Audit shipping documents to ensure compliance with international trade regulations and local laws.
- Monitor changes in trade policies and provide updates to the logistics management team.
- Resolve discrepancies in shipping manifests or customs declarations promptly.
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Strong analytical skills for calculating duties, taxes, and tariffs.
- Exceptional attention to detail to prevent costly compliance errors.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and advanced Excel.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with government agencies and clients.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification in Customs Brokerage or International Freight Forwarding is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in customs brokerage or international trade compliance, preferably within a large-scale logistics or shipping firm. Proven experience working with East African customs authorities is a significant advantage.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 6,500,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise. This is a competitive package designed to attract top-tier talent in the region.
