Job Overview
The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of a major construction initiative, from detailed design coordination to commissioning and handover. Reporting directly to the Regional Director, the manager will ensure that project milestones are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of the construction project, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and cost targets.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk registers, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, procurement specialists, safety officers, and local labor forces.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, fostering a culture of zero incidents.
- Manage contracts and relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, negotiating terms and resolving disputes.
- Oversee quality control processes, conducting inspections and audits to guarantee compliance with design specifications.
- Facilitate communication with government agencies, ensuring all permits and regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Implement cost‑saving initiatives and value engineering solutions without compromising project integrity.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, dashboards, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor junior project staff, promoting knowledge transfer and professional development.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably in emerging markets.
- Strong command of project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and BIM tools.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- In‑depth knowledge of local construction codes, procurement practices, and labor regulations in Somalia.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Fluent communication in English; proficiency in Somali or Arabic is an advantage.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Experience
