Job Overview

The Logistics Coordination Specialist will manage the end‑to‑end supply chain for food and non‑food items in the Badhan region. This role involves planning, procurement, transport, warehousing, and distribution while ensuring compliance with WFP standards and donor requirements. You will work closely with field staff, partners, and government officials to streamline operations, mitigate risks, and optimize resource use. The specialist will also contribute to strategic planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics plans for the delivery of food, medical supplies, and other essential commodities.
• Coordinate with transport providers, warehouse managers, and field teams to ensure timely and secure movement of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock reconciliations, and manage buffer stocks.
• Ensure compliance with WFP procurement policies, donor regulations, and local customs procedures.
• Identify and mitigate logistical risks, including security challenges and infrastructure constraints.
• Prepare accurate logistics reports, dashboards, and performance indicators for senior management and donors.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building support to local partners and staff.
• Participate in emergency response simulations and real‑time crisis operations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of humanitarian logistics, supply chain management, and emergency response protocols.
• Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., WFP’s Logistics Information System).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Somali is highly advantageous.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent are considered a plus.

Experience

Applicants must have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in logistics coordination within humanitarian or development contexts. Experience in Somalia or similar conflict‑affected settings is highly desirable.

Salary

The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional allowances for hardship, security, and performance may apply.
