Job Overview

The Audit Associate will join EY’s Audit & Assurance team in Boroma, contributing to the delivery of high‑impact audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from financial institutions to manufacturing firms. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop technical audit skills, engage with senior stakeholders, and gain exposure to international audit standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing audit engagements for clients across various industries.
  • Perform substantive testing, analytical procedures, and risk assessments in accordance with ISA and IFRS.
  • Prepare and review audit workpapers, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with EY’s quality standards.
  • Collaborate with senior auditors to identify control deficiencies and recommend practical solutions.
  • Utilize EY’s digital audit tools to streamline data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to client management in clear, concise reports.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory changes, industry developments, and emerging audit technologies.
  • Participate in internal training sessions, knowledge sharing forums, and client debriefings.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with audit software (e.g., EY Canvas).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team under tight deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Candidates who have completed or are pursuing professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CA are strongly preferred.

Experience

2‑4 years of audit experience in a public accounting firm or a corporate audit department is essential. Experience with financial institutions, manufacturing, or oil & gas sectors will be considered an asset.

Salary

The annual salary range for this position is SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses may be awarded annually.
