Job Overview

This critical role ensures compliance with international aviation safety standards and regulations. The Aviation Safety Officer will lead safety audits, develop risk mitigation strategies, and collaborate with regulatory bodies to maintain Somali Airlines’ reputation for operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive safety audits and inspections of aircraft, maintenance procedures, and operational protocols.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for pilots, crew, and ground staff.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with ICAO, IATA, and local aviation regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with international aviation authorities on safety certifications and audits.
  • Monitor emerging safety technologies and industry best practices for integration into operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in aviation safety regulations (ICAO/IATA standards).
  • Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and incident analysis.

  • Proficiency in safety management software and data analysis tools.
  • Fluency in English and Somali preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Safety, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Advanced certification in aviation safety management (e.g., IATA Safety Management System) is a plus.

Experience

3-5 years in aviation safety roles, preferably within commercial airline operations. Experience with Somali aviation regulations and regional safety challenges is highly advantageous.

Salary

500,000 – 800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
