Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement circular economy strategies for waste reduction and resource optimization in Afgoi and surrounding regions.
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with local businesses, NGOs, and government agencies to promote sustainable practices.
- Develop educational programs and training modules for communities on waste segregation, recycling, and upcycling.
- Monitor and report on the environmental impact of circular economy projects, ensuring alignment with Unilever’s global sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to integrate circular principles into product design and packaging.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in circular economy frameworks and sustainable resource management.
- Strong project management skills with experience in cross-sector collaboration.
- Knowledge of Somali environmental regulations and local industry practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools for tracking sustainability metrics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred, with a focus on Circular Economy or Environmental Policy.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in sustainability consulting, environmental project management, or circular economy implementation.
- Previous work in emerging markets or conflict-affected regions is a strong advantage.
Salary
1,200,000 – 1,800,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
