Job Overview

This role involves leading the production of digital media content tailored for global and regional audiences. The specialist will leverage cutting-edge tools to create engaging video, audio, and interactive content that aligns with Al Jazeera’s mission of factual, ethical storytelling. The position is based in Qardho, Somalia, and offers opportunities to work on cross-departmental projects with teams across the network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, produce, and edit digital media content for web, social platforms, and broadcast.
  • Collaborate with journalists, producers, and editors to develop multimedia stories.
  • Utilize video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and audio tools (e.g., Audition, Pro Tools).
  • Optimize content for SEO and audience engagement metrics.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in digital media and audience preferences.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in digital media production workflows and software.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling techniques for multimedia platforms.
  • Experience with social media content creation and analytics.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in Somali and English, with additional regional languages preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production, Communications, or related field.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
