Job Overview

British Council Somalia is seeking a dynamic E-Learning Developer to design and implement cutting-edge digital education platforms. This role is ideal for a creative professional passionate about leveraging technology to transform education in Somalia. The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national educational goals while working with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop interactive e-learning modules aligned with national education standards
  • Collaborate with educators to identify training needs and create digital content
  • Integrate multimedia elements (videos, animations, quizzes) into learning platforms
  • Conduct user testing and refine e-learning solutions based on feedback
  • Maintain and update digital learning resources for schools and teacher training programs
  • Provide technical support for online learning management systems

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate)
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles
  • Experience with LMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas)
  • Excellent graphic design and video editing skills
  • Knowledge of Somali educational context and challenges
  • Fluency in English and Somali

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field. Postgraduate qualification in Digital Learning preferred.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in e-learning development, with at least one completed project in an educational context. Experience working in Somalia or the Horn of Africa region is an advantage.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
