As an Industrial Automation Engineer at Siemens AG, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated systems for our Saaxdheer manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC‑based control systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Develop HMI screens and SCADA dashboards to monitor process performance and ensure real‑time visibility.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate robotics and motion control solutions.
- Conduct functional safety assessments in compliance with IEC 61508 and ISO 13849 standards.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis to minimize downtime.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 methodologies.
- Document technical specifications, wiring diagrams, and as‑built records.
- Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure all automation solutions meet Siemens quality standards and local regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (TIA Portal, STEP 7, RSLogix, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of HMI/SCADA platforms such as WinCC, Ignition, or Wonderware.
- Experience with industrial networking protocols (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Understanding of robotics integration, motion control, and sensor technologies.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a data‑driven mindset.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Siemens Certified Automation Engineer, PLC Programming, or Six Sigma Green Belt) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining industrial automation systems in a manufacturing setting. Prior experience with Siemens automation products and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget are essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 4,500,000 to SSP 6,500,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
