As an Industrial Automation Engineer at Siemens AG, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated systems for our Saaxdheer manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC‑based control systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Develop HMI screens and SCADA dashboards to monitor process performance and ensure real‑time visibility.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate robotics and motion control solutions.
• Conduct functional safety assessments in compliance with IEC 61508 and ISO 13849 standards.
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis to minimize downtime.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 methodologies.
• Document technical specifications, wiring diagrams, and as‑built records.
• Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel.
• Ensure all automation solutions meet Siemens quality standards and local regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in PLC programming languages (TIA Portal, STEP 7, RSLogix, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of HMI/SCADA platforms such as WinCC, Ignition, or Wonderware.
• Experience with industrial networking protocols (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
• Understanding of robotics integration, motion control, and sensor technologies.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a data‑driven mindset.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline is required. Salary
