Job Overview

The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst will lead advanced threat detection, incident response and security architecture initiatives for Cisco’s operations in Somalia. Reporting to the Information Security Manager, the analyst will work closely with cross‑functional teams to design, implement and monitor security controls that protect both internal and client data. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct real‑time monitoring and analysis of security events using SIEM tools to identify and mitigate threats.
  • Lead incident response investigations, coordinate containment actions, and produce detailed post‑incident reports.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards and procedures aligned with industry best practices such as NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network and application assets.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design secure architectures for new projects and cloud deployments.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior security analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging cyber threats, threat intelligence feeds, and evolving regulatory requirements in Somalia.

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) platforms such as Cisco SecureX or QRadar.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with experience in forensic analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in cyber defense will be considered an asset.

Experience

Candidates must have at least five years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity roles, with a proven track record in threat detection, incident response and security architecture. Experience in the African market or with multinational technology firms is advantageous.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 12,000,000 to SSP 18,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
