Job Overview

We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Senior Logistics Procurement Manager to lead our procurement initiatives in the Garowe region. This critical role involves managing complex vendor relationships, optimizing supply chain costs, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with our global standards of excellence and sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies that mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency across our regional network. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to support regional logistics operations.

  • Manage and evaluate vendor performance through rigorous KPIs and regular audits.
  • Collaborate with regional logistics teams to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with international maritime laws and local Somali regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive contingency planning.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives within the procurement process to reduce the carbon footprint of our logistics network.

Required Skills

  • Advanced expertise in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
  • In-depth knowledge of international logistics, freight forwarding, and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and procurement modules.
  • Strong analytical skills for cost-benefit analysis and market trend forecasting.
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Somali is highly advantageous.

Education

A Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may be considered in exceptional cases.

Experience

A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or logistics management, preferably within a large-scale multinational corporation. Proven track record of managing complex vendor portfolios and driving significant cost savings.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 6,500,000 SSP, depending on experience and qualifications.
