Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer to join our specialized subsurface team in Berbera. This role is critical to our exploration and production strategy in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for characterizing reservoir properties, predicting fluid flow, and optimizing production strategies to maximize recovery from our offshore and onshore assets. You will work closely with geologists, drilling engineers, and production specialists to ensure that our extraction processes are both efficient and environmentally responsible. This is a high-impact role that requires deep technical expertise and the ability to manage complex mathematical models in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex numerical reservoir models to predict future production profiles.
- Perform detailed material balance calculations and decline curve analysis.
- Optimize well placement and completion strategies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
- Collaborate with the drilling team to design optimal well trajectories based on reservoir data.
- Monitor real-time production data to identify reservoir performance trends and anomalies.
- Conduct uncertainty analysis and risk assessments for new drilling projects.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior management regarding asset value and production forecasts.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in reservoir simulation software such as Eclipse or Petrel.
- Deep understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and rock mechanics.
- Strong mathematical modeling and statistical analysis capabilities.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to interpret complex seismic and well log data.
- Project management skills for overseeing large-scale reservoir studies.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years of direct experience in reservoir engineering within the upstream oil and gas sector. Proven experience in offshore environments and working with complex deepwater reservoirs is a significant advantage. You should have a track record of successful field development planning and production optimization.
Salary
The offered salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 7,200,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and technical expertise. This is a competitive package designed to attract top-tier global talent.
