Job Overview

DP World Somalia is seeking a dynamic and experienced Port Operations Supervisor to oversee daily port activities in Berbera. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient cargo handling, compliance with safety standards, and seamless coordination with shipping lines, customs, and local authorities. The successful candidate will lead a team of operations staff and contribute to the strategic growth of the port.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise cargo handling operations, including loading/unloading of vessels and container management.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, customs, and logistics partners to optimize port throughput.
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols, health standards, and environmental regulations.
• Manage port equipment and facilities to ensure operational efficiency.
• Prepare reports on port performance, incidents, and resource utilization.
• Resolve operational challenges and implement process improvements.

Required Skills

• Proven leadership experience in logistics or port operations.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and international shipping practices.
• Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., TOS, ERP systems).
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Bilingual communication skills (English/Somali preferred).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in port operations, logistics management, or a similar role. Prior supervisory experience is required.

Salary

500,000 – 800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
