Job Overview
The Senior E-Commerce Logistics Specialist will play a pivotal role in managing the complex flow of goods from regional distribution centers to the final customer in the Borama region. This role is critical for our digital transformation strategy, ensuring that our online marketplace operates with seamless precision. You will be responsible for optimizing last-mile delivery, managing warehouse inventory levels, and coordinating with local transport partners to ensure timely fulfillment. This is a high-impact position that requires a blend of strategic planning and hands-on operational management. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced logistics strategies to optimize e-commerce fulfillment cycles.
- Monitor real-time delivery metrics to ensure compliance with customer service level agreements (SLAs).
- Collaborate with regional warehouse managers to optimize inventory turnover and reduce stockouts.
- Negotiate contracts with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable service.
- Analyze shipping data to identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the integration of new warehouse management systems (WMS) with our global e-commerce platform.
Required Skills
- Expertise in e-commerce logistics and last-mile delivery optimization.
- Advanced proficiency in Supply Chain Management Software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for decision-making.
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
- Deep understanding of regional trade regulations and customs procedures in East Africa.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Somali.
Education
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with significant specialized experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management is required, with at least 3 years specifically focused on e-commerce operations or digital retail fulfillment. Proven experience in managing large-scale distribution networks is highly desirable.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 2,500,000 SSP to 4,500,000 SSP, depending on experience, qualifications, and performance during the probationary period.
