Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geological surveys and mineral resource assessments in Merka, Somalia.
- Analyze rock samples, drill cores, and geophysical data to identify mineral deposits.
- Collaborate with local teams to develop sustainable mining plans aligned with environmental regulations.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, including government agencies and investors.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards during field operations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geological mapping software (e.g., ArcGIS, Surpac).
- Experience in mineral exploration and resource estimation.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting geological data.
- Ability to work in remote field conditions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-cultural collaboration.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s Degree is a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in mineral resource exploration, preferably in East African contexts. Prior fieldwork in remote or developing regions is advantageous.
Salary
12,000 – 18,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
