We are seeking a Digital Forestry Conservation Specialist to join our team in Galkayo, Somalia. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our conservation efforts in the region.
Job Overview
As a Digital Forestry Conservation Specialist, you will work closely with our conservation team to design and implement digital tools and platforms to support our forestry conservation efforts. This will involve collaborating with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective conservation strategies.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing digital solutions to support forestry conservation efforts
- Collaborating with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective conservation strategies
- Conducting field research and data collection to inform conservation efforts
- Analyzing data and developing reports to support conservation decision-making
- Developing and maintaining relationships with local partners and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry conservation efforts
- Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective conservation strategies
- Conduct field research and data collection to inform conservation efforts
- Analyze data and develop reports to support conservation decision-making

Required Skills
- Strong understanding of digital technologies and their applications in conservation
- Experience working with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
Experience
5-7 years of experience in conservation, environmental science, or a related field
