Job Overview
We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Hargeisa, Somalia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable practices across our operations, as well as working with local communities to promote environmental conservation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field, as well as experience working in a developing country context.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sustainable practices across our operations, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation
- Work with local communities to promote environmental conservation and sustainable land use practices
- Conduct environmental assessments and monitoring to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community groups
Required Skills
- Strong background in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field
- Experience working in a developing country context
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education
