Job Overview

The BIM Coordination Specialist will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of CSCEC’s upcoming mixed‑use development project in Buuhoodle. Reporting to the Project BIM Manager, the specialist will be responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating BIM models that integrate architectural, structural, MEP, and civil engineering data. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models for all disciplines, ensuring compliance with project standards and local regulations.
  • Coordinate model integration across architecture, structural, MEP, and civil teams, resolving clashes and inconsistencies.
  • Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings, presenting model updates and facilitating interdisciplinary communication.
  • Generate construction documentation, including drawings, schedules, and quantity take‑offs directly from BIM models.
  • Implement and enforce BIM execution plans, standards, and protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and training to on‑site staff and subcontractors on BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and Tekla.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office to align BIM deliverables with project milestones and client expectations.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM authoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and documentation.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail for clash detection and model validation.
  • Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and standards in Somalia.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional or a BIM Management credential are highly desirable.

Experience

Candidates must have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in BIM coordination on large‑scale construction projects, preferably within the African region. Prior exposure to infrastructure projects in emerging markets will be considered an asset.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be provided in line with CSCEC’s compensation policies.
