Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cultural Tourism Development Officer to lead initiatives in Hobyo, Somalia. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage cultural tourism projects in collaboration with local communities and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on cultural heritage sites, traditions, and tourism potential in the Hobyo region.
  • Design training programs for local guides, artisans, and hospitality providers to enhance tourism services.
  • Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to promote sustainable tourism practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the social and economic impact of tourism initiatives on local communities.
  • Create marketing materials and digital content to promote cultural tourism in Somalia.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in cultural tourism planning or community development projects.

Education

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tourism development, cultural preservation, or community engagement roles.
  • Previous work in Somalia or the Horn of Africa region is highly advantageous.

Salary

  • Competitive salary range of 1,500,000 – 2,000,000 SSP per month, depending on experience.
