Job Overview
The FinTech Product Analyst will play a pivotal role in shaping the product roadmap for WorldRemit’s mobile and web platforms in Somalia. Reporting to the Product Manager, the analyst will conduct market research, analyze user behavior, and translate insights into actionable product specifications. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the development of innovative financial solutions that address the specific needs of Somali consumers, merchants, and small enterprises. By collaborating with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, design, compliance, and marketing—the analyst ensures that product features are aligned with regulatory requirements, user expectations, and business objectives. This role is essential for driving adoption, enhancing user experience, and ultimately increasing transaction volumes across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market and competitor analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities within the Somali FinTech landscape.
- Gather and prioritize user requirements through surveys, interviews, and data analytics, translating them into clear product specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop wireframes, prototypes, and functional specifications.
- Monitor product performance metrics, generate reports, and recommend iterative improvements to enhance user engagement and conversion rates.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, anti‑money‑laundering (AML) policies, and data protection standards.
- Assist in the creation of product documentation, user guides, and training materials for internal stakeholders.
- Support the Product Manager in roadmap planning, sprint planning, and stakeholder communication.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali is a plus.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable product specifications.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and product lifecycle management.
- Understanding of FinTech ecosystems, digital payments, and regulatory environments in emerging markets.
- Problem‑solving orientation with a proactive, self‑starter attitude.
Education
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications in product management or data analytics are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
Applicants should have 2‑4 years of experience in product analysis, business analysis, or a similar role within the FinTech or digital payments sector. Experience working in or with the Somali market is highly desirable.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
