Job Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions for Microsoft’s enterprise customers in Somalia and the wider East African market. Reporting to the Regional Cloud Services Director, the role involves collaborating with sales, engineering, and partner teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud architectures. Key Responsibilities

  • Design end‑to‑end cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure that meet customer business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct technical workshops, proof‑of‑concepts, and architecture reviews with clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop solution proposals, cost estimates, and ROI analyses.
  • Provide guidance on security, governance, and performance optimization for cloud workloads.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the Cloud Services department.
  • Stay current with emerging Azure services, industry trends, and regulatory changes affecting Somalia.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Strong understanding of networking, identity management, and security in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Somali or Arabic is a plus.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience designing and delivering cloud solutions, preferably within enterprise or consulting environments. Prior experience working with clients in emerging markets or the African continent will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and stock awards may be included as part of the total rewards.
