Job Overview
The Product Manager will lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Somtel’s telecom products, from concept and market research to launch, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify new product opportunities and gaps.
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with Somtel’s business objectives.
- Collaborate with network engineers to ensure technical feasibility and optimal service delivery.
- Develop business cases, pricing models, and revenue forecasts for new and existing products.
- Lead cross‑functional product launch initiatives, coordinating marketing campaigns, sales enablement, and customer support training.
- Monitor product performance metrics, analyze customer feedback, and implement enhancements.
- Manage product lifecycle, including end‑of‑life decisions and migration plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout product development.

Experience
A minimum of five years’ experience in product management within the telecommunications industry is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully launching and managing telecom products, driving revenue growth, and leading cross‑functional teams. Experience in emerging markets, particularly in East Africa, will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
Somtel offers a competitive compensation package ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and other employee benefits.
