Job Overview
The Retail Banking Relationship Manager will be responsible for cultivating and managing a portfolio of high‑potential retail clients, delivering personalized financial solutions, and driving revenue growth for the Garoowe branch. This role requires a deep understanding of banking products, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify opportunities that align with clients’ financial goals. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while promoting the bank’s brand across Somalia. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective retail customers in Garoowe and surrounding areas.
- Identify client needs and cross‑sell appropriate banking products such as savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and digital banking services.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct thorough credit assessments and prepare loan proposals in line with the bank’s risk policies.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to help clients manage their finances effectively.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, compliance, and marketing, to deliver seamless service.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and update the CRM system regularly.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the banking sector in Somalia.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

- Proficiency in banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High level of integrity and adherence to compliance standards.
- Fluency in Somali and English; Arabic is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CBA, or relevant banking qualifications are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five years of proven experience in retail banking, relationship management, or a comparable financial services role. Experience in emerging markets, particularly in East Africa, will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 400,000 per month, commensurate with experience and performance. A performance‑based bonus structure is also available.
