Job Overview

We are seeking a highly specialized Senior Hydrology Modeler to join our technical team in El Ela. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and calibrate complex 3D groundwater and surface water models to support regional water security initiatives.
  • Analyze historical climate data and hydrological patterns to predict future water availability under various climate scenarios.
  • Collaborate with civil engineers and urban planners to integrate hydrological modeling into large-scale infrastructure designs.
  • Conduct site assessments and field data collection to validate model accuracy and reliability.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for government stakeholders and international development partners.
  • Monitor water quality trends and model the impact of pollutants on local aquifers.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard modeling software such as MODFLOW, MIKE SHE, or FEFLOW.
  • Deep understanding of hydrogeology, fluid mechanics, and stochastic modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret large datasets from remote sensing and field sensors.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for producing high-level engineering documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams within a complex environmental landscape.

Education

A Master’s degree or PhD in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, Geosciences, or a closely related field is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate a strong academic background in mathematical modeling and environmental physics.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in hydrological modeling, preferably within large-scale water management or environmental consultancy projects. Proven experience working in arid or semi-arid regions is highly desirable. Candidates should have a track record of delivering successful modeling outputs for major infrastructure projects.

Salary
