Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced metallurgical testing protocols for various steel grades.
  • Analyze chemical compositions and microstructures to ensure compliance with international manufacturing standards.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimize heat treatment processes and casting techniques.
  • Investigate material failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence in the production line.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of sophisticated laboratory equipment used in material analysis.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and laboratory technicians.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in phase transformations, thermodynamics, and kinetics of metal solidification.
  • Advanced proficiency in using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD).
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex metallurgical data and statistical process control.
  • In-depth knowledge of international quality standards such as ASTM and ISO.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional team leadership abilities.

Education

A Master of Science in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field is mandatory. A PhD in a specialized area of metallurgy is highly preferred for this senior-level position.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in a large-scale manufacturing or heavy industrial environment. Proven experience in managing metallurgical laboratory operations and leading engineering teams is essential for success in this role.

Salary
