Job Overview
The Industrial Safety Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs for Honeywell’s manufacturing operations in Boroma. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for all manufacturing processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs aligned with OSHA, ISO 45001, and Somali labor regulations.
- Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate safety controls into equipment design and workflow.
- Monitor safety performance metrics, generate reports, and present findings to senior management.
- Coordinate with local authorities and third‑party auditors during inspections and certifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles to enhance safety efficiency.
- Provide on‑site safety coaching, emergency response drills, and personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance checks.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in safety management software and data analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and stakeholder engagement.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or NEBOSH are highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in industrial safety engineering within a manufacturing environment. Experience in emerging markets, particularly in East Africa, is preferred. Demonstrated success in leading safety initiatives, reducing incident rates, and achieving compliance certifications is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 3,500,000 to 5,000,000 Somali Shilling (SSP) per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
