Job Overview
The Senior Renewable Energy Consultant will play a pivotal role in the strategic development and technical assessment of wind and solar energy projects in the region. This role involves conducting feasibility studies, evaluating site potential, and providing expert guidance on the integration of renewable energy into existing power grids. As we look toward the future of energy in East Africa, this position is critical for ensuring that new projects are technically viable, economically sound, and environmentally responsible. This is a high-level consultancy role that requires a deep understanding of both the technical aspects of energy generation and the regulatory frameworks governing the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive technical feasibility studies for large-scale wind and solar installations.
- Conduct detailed site assessments including wind speed analysis and topographical evaluations.
- Collaborate with local government agencies to ensure compliance with regional energy regulations.
- Provide expert advice on grid integration and energy storage solutions.
- Manage stakeholder relationships including local communities, investors, and technical contractors.
- Develop detailed project reports and economic models for potential energy developments.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in energy modeling software and GIS tools.
- Deep understanding of electrical grid stability and power electronics.

Education

Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in renewable energy project development or consulting. Proven experience in the African energy market or emerging markets is a significant advantage. You should have a track record of successfully managing large-scale energy infrastructure projects from conception to commissioning.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position is competitive and ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 6,200,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and technical certifications.
