Job Overview

The Solar Power Plant Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of Shell’s new solar facility in Borama. Reporting to the Regional Renewable Energy Director, you will oversee plant performance, maintenance, safety, and compliance while driving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the solar power plant, ensuring maximum availability and performance.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
• Monitor plant KPIs, analyze data, and produce performance reports for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and Shell’s safety policies.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of technicians, engineers, and support staff.
• Coordinate with the grid operator to optimize power dispatch and minimize downtime.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and procurement of spare parts and services.

Required Skills

• Excellent leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Effective communication skills in English; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
• Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to make data‑driven decisions.
• Understanding of local regulatory frameworks and environmental compliance.

Education
