As the Telecommunications Network Planning Manager, you will lead the strategic planning and optimization of Vodafone’s mobile and broadband infrastructure in Somalia. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive network planning strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the design, rollout, and optimization of 4G/5G radio access networks, backhaul, and core infrastructure.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Analyze network performance data to identify capacity gaps and propose enhancement solutions.
• Manage relationships with local authorities, vendors, and partners to secure necessary permits and resources.
• Prepare detailed cost‑benefit analyses, budgets, and forecasts for network expansion projects.
• Ensure compliance with international standards, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in RF planning, propagation modeling, and network optimization tools.
• Proficiency in telecom standards (3GPP, LTE, 5G NR) and spectrum management.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder communication abilities.
• Analytical mindset with advanced data interpretation skills.
• Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Somali is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITU‑R) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 5‑7 years of progressive experience in telecom network planning, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role. Prior experience in emerging markets or African telecom environments is a strong plus.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
