Job Overview
The Hydrogen Project Engineer will lead the design, implementation and commissioning of hydrogen production facilities in Kismayo and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed engineering design for hydrogen electrolyzers, storage tanks, and distribution networks.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Perform risk assessments, safety analyses, and environmental impact studies for all project phases.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including local government agencies, utilities, and community groups.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for senior management and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO 14687, IEC 61851, and local regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of training programs for local technicians and engineers.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of hydrogen production technologies, especially water electrolysis.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, COMSOL).
- Excellent project management abilities, with experience using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations in the energy sector.
- Effective communication skills in English; Arabic or Somali is a plus.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
- Team‑oriented attitude and experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
Education
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a closely related discipline. Experience
