Job Overview

The Telecommunications Network Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and expanding Huawei’s network solutions for clients in Somalia. Reporting to the Lead Network Architect, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop comprehensive network plans that meet performance, coverage, and cost‑efficiency targets. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed radio frequency (RF) planning, capacity analysis, and coverage simulations for 4G/5G networks.
• Develop and validate network topology, site acquisition strategies, and equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with radio access network (RAN) and core network teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Perform cost‑benefit analysis and generate optimized deployment proposals for clients.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support field teams during site rollout, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Stay updated on emerging telecom standards, technologies, and regulatory requirements in Somalia.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the department.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with network planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or iBwave.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Project management experience, including timeline and resource coordination.
• Knowledge of Somali telecom regulations and spectrum allocation.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in network planning (e.g., Huawei Certified Network Planning Engineer) are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in telecom network planning, preferably with exposure to 4G LTE and 5G technologies. Experience working in emerging markets or with international telecom operators will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is 8,000,000 – 12,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be offered in line with Huawei’s compensation policies.
