Job Overview

The Hydrogen Project Engineer will lead the design, implementation and commissioning of hydrogen production facilities in Kismayo and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed engineering design for hydrogen electrolyzers, storage tanks, and distribution networks.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Perform risk assessments, safety analyses, and environmental impact studies for all project phases.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including local government agencies, utilities, and community groups.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for senior management and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO 14687, IEC 61851, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development of training programs for local technicians and engineers.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of hydrogen production technologies, especially water electrolysis.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, COMSOL).
  • Excellent project management abilities, with experience using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations in the energy sector.
  • Effective communication skills in English; Arabic or Somali is a plus.

Education
