Job Overview

The Agricultural Technology Solutions Manager will lead the design, implementation, and scaling of innovative agritech initiatives that enhance crop productivity, reduce waste, and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in the Qandala region. Reporting to the Head of Innovation & Sustainability, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams, local cooperatives, research institutions, and technology partners to develop data‑driven solutions such as precision farming tools, mobile advisory platforms, and sustainable irrigation systems. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive agritech strategy that aligns with Unilever’s sustainability targets and local market needs.
• Lead pilot projects for precision agriculture, IoT sensor deployment, and digital farmer advisory services.
• Collaborate with local farmer groups, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure stakeholder buy‑in and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze field data to assess yield improvements, cost savings, and environmental impact, producing regular performance reports.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent technology deployments.
• Provide technical training and capacity‑building workshops for farmers and field staff.
• Identify and evaluate emerging agritech partners, negotiating contracts and overseeing integration.
• Champion best practices in sustainable farming, water conservation, and soil health across the supply chain.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of modern agricultural technologies, including remote sensing, GIS, and mobile platforms.
• Proven project management experience in rural development or agritech environments.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, fluent in English and Somali.
• Strategic thinking with a results‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations and adapt to challenging field conditions.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in agritech, data analytics, or sustainable development are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have 5‑7 years of relevant experience, preferably within agritech solution development, agricultural extension services, or supply‑chain sustainability projects. Experience working with smallholder farmer communities in East Africa will be considered a strong advantage.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 8,000,000 to SSP 12,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based incentives and annual bonuses are also part of the compensation package.
