Job Overview

CGI Group Inc. is seeking a Geospatial Technology Consultant to lead the analysis and interpretation of satellite imagery and geospatial data to support environmental planning and resource management projects in Somalia. This role will focus on developing actionable insights to guide infrastructure development, land use planning, and climate resilience strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze satellite imagery and geospatial data to identify environmental patterns and trends
  • Develop maps, models, and reports to support decision-making for infrastructure and resource management
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists and urban planners to integrate geospatial insights into project designs
  • Implement GIS software solutions for data visualization and spatial analysis
  • Provide technical guidance on geospatial technologies to cross-functional teams

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools
  • Experience with geospatial data analysis and interpretation
  • Strong understanding of environmental planning principles
  • Excellent data visualization and report writing skills
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Geospatial Technology, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in geospatial technology consulting or environmental planning
  • Proven track record in satellite imagery analysis
  • Experience in Somalia or other East African regions is an advantage

Salary

1,200,000 – 1,800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
