Job Overview

The Mining Geologist will conduct field surveys, analyze geological data, and contribute to the identification of mineral deposits in Galkayo. This role is critical to SomMining Ltd.’s mission of expanding its resource portfolio while adhering to environmental and safety standards. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in geological mapping, mineral analysis, and report preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys and geological mapping to identify potential mineral deposits.
  • Analyze rock samples and geological data to assess mineral composition and viability.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with drilling and exploration teams to guide resource extraction efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international mining regulations.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in geological software (e.g., ArcGIS, Surpac) and mineral analysis tools.
  • Strong fieldwork experience in remote or challenging environments.
