Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team in Hargeisa, Somalia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable development projects that promote environmental conservation and community development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field, with at least 8 years of experience in a similar role. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable development projects that promote environmental conservation and community development
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts
  • Build and maintain relationships with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to promote conservation efforts
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and achieving project goals
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement conservation projects that benefit both people and the environment

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in environmental science and sustainability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field

Experience

At least 8 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in environmental science and sustainability

Salary

50,000 – 70,000 SSP per month
