Job Overview

The Senior Hydrogeology Consultant will play a pivotal role in our strategic water management initiatives across the Hiran region. This position involves conducting advanced subsurface investigations, modeling groundwater flow, and designing sustainable extraction methods to support rural and urban water needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex groundwater modeling and aquifer characterization studies to inform large-scale water infrastructure projects.
  • Supervise field teams during borehole drilling, water quality testing, and geophysical surveys.
  • Develop technical reports and strategic recommendations for local government water authorities.
  • Assess the impact of climate change on groundwater recharge rates and seasonal availability.
  • Collaborate with civil engineers to design sustainable groundwater extraction and distribution systems.
  • Ensure all hydrogeological activities comply with international environmental standards and local regulations.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in groundwater modeling software such as MODFLOW or FEFLOW.

Education

Experience

A minimum of seven years of professional experience in hydrogeological investigations, groundwater modeling, or water resource management is required. Previous experience working in East Africa or within complex humanitarian/development contexts is a significant advantage. You should have a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary technical teams and delivering high-quality scientific reports.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 6,500,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and technical qualifications. This package is competitive and reflects the seniority of the role.
