Job Overview
We are seeking a Digital Forestry Conservation Specialist to join our team in Garowe, Somalia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry conservation efforts in Somalia. This will include working with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to design and implement digital tools and platforms to monitor and manage forest resources.
The Digital Forestry Conservation Specialist will also be responsible for analyzing data and developing reports to inform our conservation efforts. This will include working with our data team to develop and implement data collection and analysis protocols, as well as developing and disseminating reports to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry conservation efforts in Somalia
- Work with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to design and implement digital tools and platforms to monitor and manage forest resources
- Analyze data and develop reports to inform conservation efforts
- Work with our data team to develop and implement data collection and analysis protocols
- Develop and disseminate reports to stakeholders
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Conservation or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in forestry conservation or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Experience with digital tools and platforms, including data collection and analysis software
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Conservation or a related field. A Ph.D. in a related field is an asset.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in forestry conservation or a related field. Experience working in Somalia or a similar context is an asset.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per month.
