Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Rights Investigator to lead complex field investigations in Somalia. This role involves documenting human rights violations, interviewing witnesses, and compiling detailed reports that will inform our global advocacy campaigns. Key Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale field investigations into alleged human rights violations in various regions.
• Conduct sensitive interviews with victims, witnesses, and community leaders using trauma-informed techniques.
• Analyze complex datasets and qualitative information to identify patterns of systemic abuse.
• Draft comprehensive, high-quality investigative reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with local NGOs and community organizations to strengthen human rights monitoring networks.
• Provide expert guidance to junior researchers and field officers during active investigations.

Required Skills

• Advanced investigative techniques and evidence collection methodologies.
• Deep understanding of International Human Rights Law and humanitarian principles.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
• Fluency in Somali and English is mandatory for high-level reporting.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building trust in sensitive environments.

Education

A Master of Laws (LLM) or a PhD in International Law, Human Rights, or a closely related field is required. Candidates must demonstrate a strong academic background in legal frameworks and investigative procedures.

Experience

A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in human rights investigation, legal research, or international law is essential. Proven experience working in conflict-affected or post-conflict environments is highly desirable. Candidates should have a track record of producing high-level reports that have influenced policy or legal proceedings.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 6,200,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and qualifications.
